My baking journey - part 2

Hi everybody, as promised, here's part 2 of my baking journey summary... best explained with pics... may all my dreams come true... In Syaa Allah... Aameen :)

All photos here were taken during my 3 months program at Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia and two (2) of my participation at their annual Asia Pastry Forum in 2013 and 2014.  I was too occupied with work and traveling to attend the Asia Pastry Forum in 2015... it is with much hope that i can attend in 2016.

This is Chef G... the most friendly and funny Chef Guillaume Lejeune... we had so much fun in his class hehe
And this is some of us with Chef G... that's Dera Ariwijaya and Parham Sohrabi (Peter). Other good friends in our group is Marianne, Eli Zabeth, Sarah Anne Choa (now studying in University of West London), Shirley, Emma FZ and more... and yeah we are still in touch with each other... thanks to FB and IG hehe
That's Chef Niklesh Sharma, the MD and Executive Pastry Chef of Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia... nice guy who gives lots of good advice :) thank you Chef.
Another priceless moment... this one is with the famous Adriano Zumbo of Zumbo Patisserie in Sydney and Melbourne.  I had the pleasure of attending the Chocolate Tasting with Chef Adriano Zumbo at the Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia in 2013.  We get to taste his awesome creations especially his Zumbarons, Millefeuille, St. Honore and Charlotte... all of which is to die for, literally yeah :) haha

That's me at the end of the 3 days Artisan Breads and Breakfast Pastries Program by Chef Franck Heuze at the Asia Pastry Forum in 2013.  And yes, that Chef G looking on :)
Thus far, this is the best Chef i have learned from and he is none other MOF Chef Jean Francois Arnaud.  I took his French Travel Cakes Program from him and it was worth every single cent. He is so passionate and have a high level of patience... respect!

That's me at the end of the 3 days French Travel Cakes Program by MOF Chef Jean Francois Arnaud at the Asia Pastry Forum in 2014.  I was on cloud nine hehehe
And this is one of our Chefs during the 3 months Program.. Chef Azura... love her to bits because she is to talented and cool (and strict too)... I just could not find my photo of Chef Frederic Oger... he is now the owner of Pastry Institute of St Honore in TTDI.  Another awesome chef that i had the pleasure to learn from too.  And not forgetting Chef Tan and Chef Chong.

Haha... couldn't resist a selfie before the presentation... omg for my double chin, a sign of prosperity haha but it's all for memories... #lovemybakingjourney
Love this quote... it's so me... slowly but surely... In Syaa Allah.  That's all for now for this post... more to come... will also share recipes, okay... take care everybody and may we all have a blessed day and week ahead. Aameen.

Much love,

My baking journey - part 1

Wow... it has been ages since i last posted on my blog... mainly due to occupational hazards... because i went back to the corporate world (yeah, i know, i have a soft spot for banking hehe) and after a good four (4) years, i finally decided to leave the corporate world for good, i mean, really and seriously :)

In between my hectic working schedule, i was glad i still took time to attend baking classes and courses during weekends.  To cut the story short, here are some photos to tell the story of my baking journey... most of which i cherish so much and am glad that now I have the luxury to pursue my passion, stay at home, rest and relax and bake :)  Am so glad I am enjoying my transition from banking to baking... yeah!!!

This is my first baking class ever and it was at Cake Connection PJ.  Their Chocolate Cupcake is so delicious and have been using this recipe since.  The owners are Nancy and Shymala, best friends who teamed up to start Cake Connection... took quite a number of classes there, cupcakes, fancy cookies, fondant cakes etc.
This is me with the famous and talented Fat Boy Bakes... this class was at Cake Connection.
Aahhh... love this pic the most... that's me with the Kitchen Goddess and multi talented Rohani Jelani at her absolutely gorgeous kitchen... so glad I attended 8 classes from her and i sure do learned a lot.  Miss her celoteh and i intend to make a visit to Bayan Indah sometime soon.  Love her and love her kitchen like crazy... it will be a dream come true if I can ever have a kitchen like hers... for now, i will keep on dreaming heehee
Yes... that's me at Rohani Jelani's kitchen hehe... this must be about 5 years ago... omg... I have put on so much weight since... sigh!
Okay... that's me and the super talented Naz Hashim... I took the part time cake decorating classes at ICCA at Damansara in 2010... Naz was our teacher for this 3rd course Wedding Cakes :)  This course meant a lot to me because this was when i met my BFFs Nurul and TinTin Carpio.  Alhamdulillah we have shared so much in our baking journey together.  And, this is where my love for Wilton blooms haha... drama
That's me again, this time after I completed the Wilton's Better Baking Course at ICCA Damansara.  Love all the recipes and I learned so much about baking better cakes hahaha that's what the course is all about lol...
Ohhh found this pic... at Rohani Jelani's Festive Baking class :)

Okay... that's all for part 1 of my baking journey... will continue with my recent ones in part 2 ... and yes... with more photos ya hehe

Good night everybody... may we all have a blessed day and week ahead... xoxo
